Lovely Day

Day 16

I’m not going to talk about today. Other than to say we did a video chat with some friends who live out of state, and my people-starved child talked a mile a minute for the entire time we were on with them. Our friends on the other end of the call were very accomodating of her jabbering and we had a great visit for a few minutes. It was a welcomed respite from the loneliness of late.

Other than that, today was just weird.

Yesterday was a good day. We had a glorious weather day and spent a lot of time outside. We took the dog on several long walks and played soccer and football. I ordered a couple of sets of what I thought were NORMAL sized playground balls.  Turns out they are much smaller than I thought they would be. Oh well. We made lemonade out of lemons and played anyway. Let’s face it, neither Arden nor I are sporty girls, so the smaller balls were probably more up our alley.

We also did a science lesson on sound and waves. Of course, we had to make a paper cup phone to test out how it works. It was fun.

I had the windows opened all day and we grilled burgers for dinner.  It felt like a “normal” evening for a little while.

Today…well like I said, I’m not talking about today. Nothing bad happened, it was just not an easy one.

News of the Day:

  • The United States now leads the world with more than 175,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The U.S. death toll, now above 3,400, has surpassed the number of people killed on 9/11.
  • The White House projects between 100,000 and 200,000 American deaths. Three out of every four Americans are now under some form of lockdown.

Plan for the day: It is currently 6:30 p.m. As soon as I hit “Post”, I plan to put my pjs on and curl up with a book.

See you tomorrow!

Cheers!
